Rosemont Preserve
Arroyos & Foothills Conservancy (AFC) is a non-profit land conservancy dedicated to protecting and restoring natural open spaces in Southern California. In 2012, AFC acquired the 7.75-acre Rosemont Preserve to conserve its native habitat and provide educational and recreational opportunities for the community. The Preserve is located in Goss Canyon, and its access road is jointly managed by AFC, Crescenta Valley Water District (CVWD), and the LA County Flood Control District. This partnership enhances both environmental stewardship and sustainable water resource management in the region.
The Friends of the Rosemont Preserve is an advisory committee dedicated to leading educational programs and volunteer-driven restoration programs at the Rosemont Preserve.

Stormwater Capture Project
CVWD partnered with AFC to construct a bioswale at the Rosemont Preserve just upstream of a County flood control debris basin. The bioswale was dug to capture stormwater runoff to help recharge the Verdugo Basin aquifer. The water is captured before it enters the County storm channel and is lost to the ocean, providing a cost-effective, nature-based solution to addressing the long-term water resource challenges facing Crescenta Valley and the Southern California region as a whole.

Community Access to the Rosemont Preserve
CVWD has partnered with AFC to improve community access to the Rosemont Preserve. A new multi-purpose pedestrian and utility vehicle gate will be constructed to allow remote security control of the gate and safer pedestrian access. Additional improvements will include a new informational kiosk at the front gate to provide geographic information about the Preserve.
