Please be advised that on the morning of Wednesday, August 25, 2021, Crescenta Valley Water District and Brkich Construction of Monrovia will be performing a water main shutdown to abandon the old 2-inch water main and establish your service on the newly installed 6-inch water main on the 2700 block of Paraiso Way.

This work will result in a temporary interruption of water service at your address on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM.  Please plan for a temporary loss of water and accept our apology if this causes you any inconvenience. A door hanger notification will be delivered to all residents affected should any dates and times change.

We suggest that you draw water in advance of the shut-off time to supply ordinary needs.  It is also advisable to store water in the bathtub for toilet flushing.  In addition, after the water is back in service, we recommend that you turn on your water faucets slowly as there may be air trapped in your water line from recharging the water main in the street.  The air should dissipate quickly, and water service restored back to normal. Lastly, it is suggested that you consult the User’s Manual for all appliances connected to your home’s plumbing system to ensure proper use after the water is back in service.

This work is all part of the District’s continuing effort to improve your water system.  We ask for your cooperation and thank you for helping us to make this project a success.

If you have any questions or comments concerning this project, please contact me at (818) 236-4115 or e-mail me at ckopelman@cvwd.com.

Crescenta Valley Water District (CVWD) will be replacing approximately 1,915 linear feet of water pipeline as part of CVWD's FY 20/21 Capital Improvement Program.

The project will replace 8-inch and 6-inch steel water main on the 4800 block of Dyer Ave, 2800 block of El Caminito St, 4800 block of Glenwood Ave, 2800 block of Stevens St and 2700 block of Paraiso Way, within unincorporated Los Angeles County, California. These water pipelines were initially installed in the 1950s and 1930s. Since then, the pipelines have developed numerous leaks necessitating the replacements.

In the interest of public safety and since the pipelines have deteriorated beyond their useful life, the District will be replacing the pipelines as part of CVWD's on-going pipeline replacement program.

CONSTRUCTION PHASE SCHEDULE (As of August 12, 2021)

  • March 11, 2021 – Community Meeting
