For Immediate Release, May 9, 2017:

Crescenta Valley Water District will be breaking ground on a new project that consists of replacing an 8-inch water transmission main, installed in 1948, along the northbound side of Pennsylvania from Encinal Ave. to Community Ave.

The construction project will begin on May 15, 2017 and approximately 1,450 linear feet of 8-inch water transmission main will be replaced. This project is part of CVWD’s ongoing water main replacement program.
The contractor, Brkich Construction, will begin exploratory excavation work on the northbound side of the 4300 blk. of Pennsylvania Ave. to verify the depths and locations of the surrounding utilities. Exploratory excavation will begin Monday May 15, 2017 and continue along Pennsylvania Ave. from Encinal Ave. to Community Ave. until May 19, 2017.

Construction of the new water transmission main is scheduled to start on May 21, 2017 at the intersection of Encinal Ave and Pennsylvania Ave, which means that there will be temporary traffic delays for traffic traveling northbound on Pennsylvania Ave. between 7:30 am and 4:30 pm during the week. Traffic lanes will remain open on weekends.

CVWD and Brkich Construction anticipate that the project will be completed by the end of July 2017.
Residents are encouraged to call Christina Olmedo, project manager, for construction related questions, 818-248-3925 or email colmedo@cvwd.com. Please check our website at www.cvwd.com for further updates.
