Goss Canyon No. 2 Reservoir Rehabilitation, Project E-1066
Crescenta Valley Water District (CVWD) will be rehabilitating Goss Canyon No. 2 Reservoir as part of the FY22/23 capital improvement projects and is part of the District’s continuing efforts to provide residents with a safe and reliable water supply.
Crescenta Valley Water District (CVWD) awarded a contract to J. Colon Coatings, Inc. of Alta Loma in October 2023, to perform the rehabilitation of the interior and exterior surfaces of the existing water storge tank located at top of Goss Canyon Avenue. Improvements will include interior and exterior coatings, new staircase and seismic upgrades. The water storage tank, installed in 1960s, is a critical component of the water supply in your neighborhood.

CVWD advises that residents avoid traveling through the construction zone whenever possible. CVWD will provide an updated construction schedule via CVWD’s website (www.cvwd.com) to better inform residents of construction activities as the project progresses.
As in most construction projects, this work will create a certain amount of unavoidable public inconvenience.
Reminders:
· Construction will generate intermittent noise throughout the project. We apologize in advance for the unavoidable noise as the contractor works on rehabilitating the reservoir. Sound readings will be monitored periodically to assure the contractor stays within allowable levels.
· Most construction is between the hours of 7:30am to 4:00pm weekdays. A notice will be sent to residents in advance to inform residents of any change in construction hours. Our construction crew will do their best to minimize disruption outside of these hours.
· In addition, to helping the contractor stay on schedule, meet specifications and assure a quality finished product on the interior surfaces, dehumidification equipment will be placed on site. This equipment will run twenty four (24) hours during the week and weekends while the contractor coats the interior of the tank. This is to help prevent rust blooms, blistering, and curing failures on the interior surfaces in order to conform to the coating requirements and specifications.
Your cooperation in making this project successful will be greatly appreciated. Additional information will be updated periodically on CVWD's website.
