Public Workshop Announcement
On Tuesday, December 8, 2009, at 6:30 p.m., Crescenta Valley Water District will hold a Public Workshop on proposed water rates for 2010. This workshop will be held at the District office, 2700 Foothill Blvd., La Crescenta. Beginning September 1st 2009, Metropolitan Water District (MWD) increased the cost of imported water to Foothill Municipal Water District (FMWD) by 20%. These increased costs will result in higher imported water fees for the District. At the December 8th public workshop, CVWD’s Staff will present to the Board of Directors a new billing structure that will “break out” the fixed rate the District pays to FMWD. This fixed rate covers the costs associated with rehabilitating existing infrastructure and developing new, more reliable, supplies to offset the impact of the drought and the pumping restrictions on the Delta. Staff will also present information regarding a rate increase. Because of the tiered rate structure, the overall rate increase will vary depending upon the amount of water used per billing cycle.
